C-Tran and Waste Connections are offering a free document shredding event on Saturday, September 30, 2017. The public is invited to bring up to two bags or boxes of paper to be shredded at no cost.
The event will be held from 9AM-Noon at the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center located at 3510 SE 164th Ave in Vancouver (see map below).
C-Tran published this list on their Facebook event page detailing what to bring and what not to bring:
Bring documents with sensitive information such as your social security number, birth date, or bank account information:
-financial statements
-invoices
-personal documents
-medical/dental records
-pay stubs
-tax records
-vehicle record
-employment records
Please do NOT bring:
-receipts
-office paper
-magazines
-junk mail
-documents that do not reveal your identity or sensitive personal information
-materials other than paper
Also during that time, C-Tran will be accepting donations for Share Vancouver. According to the C-Tran website, the most needed items include:
- Peanut butter (no glass jars)
- Laundry detergent
- Hand and dish soap
- Children’s clothing
- Boys’ shoes
- Coats
- Men’s underwear
- Plus-size women’s clothing
